Damage to the paint

These abrasions are classified as damage:

  • Scratches and scuffs in the paintwork that cannot be polished
  • Quirks in the paintwork that need to be repainted
  • Stone chips that penetrate the paint down to the primer coat
  • Unprofessional paintwork or bonding that causes color differences
  • Paint damage caused by natural and environmental influences that are avoidable, e.g. resin, bird and bee droppings, etc.



The following abrasions are not a problem:

  • Polishable, light scratches on the surface of the vehicle
  • Polishable traces of the vehicle wash or streaks
  • Minor stone chips that do not penetrate the paint to the primer coat
