These abrasions are classified as damage:
- Scratches and scuffs in the paintwork that cannot be polished
- Quirks in the paintwork that need to be repainted
- Stone chips that penetrate the paint down to the primer coat
- Unprofessional paintwork or bonding that causes color differences
- Paint damage caused by natural and environmental influences that are avoidable, e.g. resin, bird and bee droppings, etc.
The following abrasions are not a problem:
- Polishable, light scratches on the surface of the vehicle
- Polishable traces of the vehicle wash or streaks
- Minor stone chips that do not penetrate the paint to the primer coat
